Comfort

I'm about to upgrade and re-wire my Comfort system, and to (hopefully) avoid the cable mess that is my current Comfort wiring scheme, I plan to bring the connectivity outside the main panel. At the moment, my intention is to punch down the connections from the Comfort main board onto a CAT5 patch panel, rather like the illustration below. At the same time, I plan to install switches on the inputs, and LED's on the outputs as an aid to programming & testing. The idea being that I can simulate any input activation by pressing the button, and I can see output activations via the LED's. All the input & output device cables will have RJ45 plugs crimped onto them, and any device can then be easily connected to any Comfort zone by simply plugging it in. This also means that Comfort devices can be easily positioned anywhere in the house where there is an available CAT5 outlet.
